The Sony PXU-HC240 Hard Disk Drive Cartridge offers 240GB of storage which allows for up to 17 hours (SP mode) or 13 hours (HQ mode) of video content. Since the cartridges are removable, you can shoot in the field non-stop and easily hand off your full cartridges for editing without interruption.

Internal shock absorbers. The cartridge has an internal HDD which is suspended inside the PXU-HC240 chassis by four specially engineered dampers that help protect against shock. 3G shock detection. As in a laptop PC, this system senses a potential shock and temporarily “parks” the read/write heads away from the hard disk surface, to help protect the disk from damage.

When used separately the PXU-HC240 cartridge can be externally powered and offers a mini USB out option for content transfer.
